Chris Roybal has over 25 years of experience in executive management, consulting, and economic development. Currently, he is the president of the Northern Utah Economic Alliance, a regional economic development marketing partnership to promote economic growth in northern Utah.
Chris was the president & COO of Northwest Research Corporation for over 10 years, a shipping services vendor for a Fortune 100 company. Northwest employed over 400 people in Salt Lake City, Memphis, and Toronto.
Prior to entering the transportation business, Chris spent over 13 years in the economic development business. He held the position of CEO at Economic Development Corporation of Utah, work included: consulting with hundreds of corporations with site selection plans, including advice regarding labor analysis, tax incentives, real estate and other location options. He was Senior Economic Advisor to Governor Huntsman, he co-wrote and implemented the governor’s economic plan, including: international trade, tourism, recruitment, incentives, and workforce development, among others.
Chris also spent over 4 years as a senior business analyst for venture capital investments and management consulting. Market research, business plan evaluations and other investment due diligence were among his areas of concentration.
Chris holds a B.S. Degree in Geophysics from the University of Utah, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from UCLA.
