In 2018, Darin Brush was named the fourth president of Davis Technical College. Darin considers it “the best job in the world” because he can apply his varied experience and skills to work for the benefit of the students and employers who depend on Davis Tech, one of the nation’s leading technical colleges, and the largest in Utah.
Before moving to Davis Tech, Darin was the Executive Director of the Utah State Office of Rehabilitation, a $90 million agency with a mission to serve people with disabilities. During his two years there, Darin led USOR through a transformative process toward greater accountability, transparency, and efficiency that rebalanced its budget, ended multi-million-dollar federal financial penalties, and reduced client waiting lists for services.
Prior to this, Darin served for ten years as the CEO of Community Development Corporation of Utah, where he led that non-profit through its period of greatest expansion, including development of almost 400 units of affordable housing throughout the state. In 2012, Community Development Corporation achieved certification by the US Treasury as a Community Development Financial Institution, making it an elite non-profit lender to low-and moderate-income households. Darin is also a 12-year veteran of state government. Prior to his work at Community Development Corporation, he was Deputy Director of the Utah Department of Workforce Services, one of the state’s largest agencies.
Darin attended the University of Utah where he earned three degrees, including a master’s in history. He is passionate about the outdoors, cooking, and the San Francisco Giants (his hometown team). He, his wife Natalie, and their three children live in Farmington.
