George Hansen is the Founder and Senior Technical Fellow at the Conductive Group/Conductive Composites. As a Chemical Engineer (BYU ’79), he has applied his skills to understanding and developing methods of electron transport in otherwise non conducting materials, particularly through chemical vapor deposition techniques. He holds 26 patents, with seven more currently pending. He is the recipient of the R&D 100 Award (2006), Utah Innovator of the Year (2010), Governors Medal for Science and Technology (2018) and Utah Engineer of the Year (2019).
George is a Founding Director of UAMMI (Utah Advanced Materials and Manufacturing Initiative), and a former North American Director for SAMPE (Society of Materials and Process Engineers), where he is a Fellow.
George resides in Midway, Utah where he and his wife raised four children. He now raises a small herd of bison. George is the inaugural recipient of the Pfeifferhorn Award (1996), Utah’s highest award for environmental stewardship.
