Cheryle Caplinger is the Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships and the Innovation District Project Manager at Utah Tech University (formerly Dixie State). Ms. Caplinger works with university leadership and deans to establish and manage high-level, mutually beneficial partnerships with organizations and companies. These collaborations are selected to support Utah Tech’s polytechnic mission, specifically to insights about academic programming and student career readiness.
As a “military brat,” Ms. Caplinger has lived nationwide. Her bachelor’s degrees are from Ashland University in Ohio; her master’s degree is from Northern Illinois University outside of Chicago. Ms. Caplinger is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), and the American Marketing Association (AMA). She also serves on several boards as the chair for ethics and diversity. She has Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE).
Ms. Caplinger was a Director of Development for the University of North Carolina Health Foundation and was CEO of large-scale non-profit organizations in Alabama and Minnesota. She was also the Executive Director of Marketing and Communications for the College of Engineering at Virginia Commonwealth University. As a former boxing instructor, Cheryle enjoys exceeding expectations while also continuing to broaden her education.
