Scott Hansen

Director, Raytheon - Utah Site Executive Raytheon

Scott R. Hansen is an Engineer and Executive Leader in the technology and defense industry. Scott has worked for over 23 years at Raytheon Technologies, now called RTX, comprised of Raytheon, Collins Aerospace, and Pratt & Whitney. Scott is currently the Utah Site Executive as well as the Director of Advanced Technologies of the AST subsidiary of RTX and is a member of the Senior Leadership team. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from BYU and a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.

Scott has developed a stellar reputation in the industry and has received numerous Excellence in Engineering and Technology Awards from Raytheon as well as Meritorious Citations from the United States Government for exemplary performance from multiple agencies. He received the BYU Electrical and Computer Engineering Honored Alumnus in 2019. Scott serves on both the BYU and University of Utah External Advisory Boards of Engineering.

Scott was the fifth engineer to start in the Utah Office and has helped grow that office to nearly 200 people. Scott has worked on embedded software, application software, FPGA development, RF, optics, and all aspects of Systems Engineering, primarily focused on Digital Signal Processing. In addition to engineering, he has also been involved in strategic planning, business development, program and project leadership, proposal management, research, and first-in-industry technology development. Over his entire career, Scott has worked in the defense and intelligence industries, providing cutting edge capabilities to the government – which explains his passion for Aerospace and Defense.

Scott and his wife, Angie, have six wonderful children and have lived in Highland for over 20 years, serving and teaching in the community.
