
Tucker Smith received his B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Utah State University in 2014 and MBA degree from the University of Utah in 2018. He has been with HyPerComp Engineering, Inc. since 2013. As a Design Engineer and Program Manager he designed, fabricated, tested, and qualified high performance Composite Overwrapped Pressure Vessels (COPVs) for launch vehicles and aircraft. He was instrumental in producing and qualifying the first plastic lined COPVs ever qualified and flown in manned space-flight. His work has included significant contributions to extreme pressure designs (above 25,000 psi), novel design elements and processes for custom pressure vessels with unique challenges, pressure system design, and test site safety. More recently he has transitioned into the role of Director of Business Operations where he helps manage HyPerComp’s finances, human resources, business development, and strategic planning.
