Val Peterson

As VP of Administration and Strategic Relations, Val Peterson oversees a budget of more than $50 million. His administrative responsibilities include Facilities & Planning, Athletics, University Relations, Strategic Relations, Emergency Management Services, and Environmental Health & Safety.

Val started at UVU when it was Utah Technical College in June 1987 and has served as the Associate VP for College Relations and VP for College Relations. He has served in the National
Guard for 30-years. Though now retired, as a Brigadier General he was responsible for the training, readiness, administration, logistics, and Uniform Code of Military Justice for the six Major Army commands within the State of Utah.

Val (R) Orem also serves as a state legislator. He was elected in 2009 and is in his seventh term. He serves as the Executive Appropriations Chair in the Utah Legislature.
